This one is for all the homeware enthusiasts! 🛋️ From 1927 to 1988, our building served as the home of the federal parliament, adorned with thousands of carefully crafted pieces, from seating and signage right down to the wastepaper bins and ashtrays, all designed specifically for the building by architect John Smith Murdoch. It’s been one year since we reopened our doors after a devastating fire on the front steps caused significant damage to the building. Soot and smoke permeated all three levels of the building, reaching as far back as the doors to the Members’ Dining Rooms and extending to the furthest extent of the North Wing.
