Policemen and sex workers came together to help a pregnant woman with mental disability who was lying on the road amid labour pain. The woman later gave birth to a healthy child. The young woman in twenties identified as Uma Paunikawas was spotted around 6: 30 am on the lanes of Ganga Jamuna red light area. Cops on duty alerted Assistant police inspector (API) Gopika Kodape of Lakadganj police station who after realising the woman was in labour pain shifted her to Mayo Hospital. Constables sought the help of an elderly sex worker Santosh Lahere to help them support the woman in labour pain.
