Union Minister of Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju, speaking at the 20th edition of the India Today Conclave 2023 on Saturday in New Delhi, said that the appointment of judges is not a judicial work but it is purely administrative in nature. “Appointment of judges is not a judicial work but it is purely administrative in nature. if there are names sent by the Supreme Court of the High Court Collegium for the appointment as the judges, it is a bounded duty of the government to carry out due diligence otherwise I will be sitting there as a postmaster,” said Rijiju. The law minister added that the appointment of the judges is the duty of the President of India.
