Charalampos Charalampous, MD, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, comments on the role of PET/CT in assessing early treatment response in patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (NDMM). In a recent study, it was shown that PET/CT negativity at six months is predictive of better progression-free survival (PFS), time to next treatment, and overall survival (OS).
